Rapid population growth in the Toluca region of Mexico, places increasing demands on the availability of water resources. Creating imminent need to conduct groundwater studies and implement protection strategies to ensure the long-term sustainability of clean water supplies.  A multidisciplinary approach for coping with declining groundwater levels while maximizing the beneficial use of the resource is presented.
